Asian Paints ColourNext announces the four colour trends for 2022 – We/Us (blurring the lines between gender assumptions and hierarchy), Hope You’re Well (mental health), Artify (art), and Solo Commerce (solopreneurship).  The colours address socio-cultural topics on colour, design and lifestyle such as mental health, metaverse, solopreneurship, gender, fashion and décor. As per the research done by ColourNext, the theme in 2022 encourages people to face challenges and move ahead in their lives. Using inputs from experts from various disciplines across architecture, art, interiors, fashion and sociology in India and the subcontinent.

Also, it announces the Colour of the Year as Transcendental Pink, which is a greyish-purple representing the mind’s ability to synthesise new knowledge and old wisdom. It inspires one to break stigmas and stereotypes, and break free from the changes. The colour encourages people to believe, arise and create new things after facing major changes in 2021. On the other hand, 2022 is the time to break stereotypes and stigma to live a life of their choice. The Wallpaper of the Year is Lotus and Stilts embraces and celebrates transition, using the simple matchbox style art to depict the Nal Sarovar Lake and its migratory birds.
