“Irrfan’s only requirements were natural light, sunshine and a jungle of plants.”

Mumbai designer Shabnam Gupta, who designed actor Irrfan Khan’s Andheri home three years ago, remembers her interaction with him:

“Irrfan was a very warm and down-to-earth person. Very enigmatic and visually so alive in being able to perceive and understand the design that was being discussed. His only requirements in every meeting were I should be able to have a lot of natural light, sunshine and see a jungle of plants. No one should be able to see me from any neighbors’ buildings and I should get the feeling of being one with nature.”
