Dynamic design for Noida apartment

Noida-based Amaze Spaces has designed The Urban Silhouette, which is a plush apartment in Gurugram. Spread over 1700 sq. ft., the site has trees, fauna, laterite boulders and natural landscaping. A golf course lies on the western side, bringing in a natural breeze. Spaces are connected with a linear passage and the corridor connects the living and dining space with the kitchen and three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a separate work-from-home area towards the north, bringing in diffused daylight.

French blue and powder pink was the primary colour palette used in the living room, with a pastel Pichwai artwork on beige grey ceramic plats at the backdrop. A signature lantern sits on the French wall panelling. Marble flooring is chosen for its old-world charm, and the walls are given a vintage appeal in light grey undertones and a wooden floating false ceiling. The ‘Bagh’ wallpaper has intricately-designed koel birds and hibiscus flowers and buds all over it. A band running across the walls and ceilings maintains synchrony in the space.

The living room partition bifurcates the corridor from the living area, and the huge fenestration becomes the bar spot. The client didn’t want to showcase the bottles directly, so the firm clubbed the window and bar to double up as seating space. The dining space needed a functional counter with a microwave unit, crockery, storage and a refrigerator separate from the kitchen.

A biophilic partition in Canadian Oakwood bifurcates the dining space and follows a grey and green palette. One can see the same oakwood shade-finished shutters through the diagonal finds of the partition, paired with dark olive chalkboard-finished shutters. While the ceramics were black and white, the firm used Morrocan flooring and onyx tiles.

The master bedroom uses teal and receives natural light, and the accent wall features light sky teal undertones with golden birds symbolising the golden chains of matrimony. The children’s bedroom has bursts of colours, and the false ceiling and ambient lighting are inspired by clouds. The guest bedroom resembles a tropical paradise with wallpaper featuring bananas, guavas and swollen baobab trees in Africa.
