“The liberty of the design is in the perfect balance that I achieve between the client’s brief and my creative expression. I’m constantly inspired by the client’s desires, and I treat every project as a challenge to exceed expectations. I remain grateful to my team, clients, and family for the support that I have received throughout,” Des. Abhishek Chadha says, reflecting on his decade-long journey in design.

“With the overall evolution in architecture trends, the basic purpose of hospitality has moved on from tourism or business; it now inculcates leisure. The overall hospitality design philosophy today flourishes as it encompasses international trends and has reached a reputable level,” says Ar. Chitalwala.

He gives an example, “Around two decades ago, Designers Group introduced laminated wooden flooring to the guest rooms of a Taj property that was later adapted by other designers. Today, the community looks for materials that are sustainable and prevent virus transmission, where people don’t want to import material.”

Ar. Sumit Dhawan says, “The firm’s principles revolve around experimentation and innovation in designing projects. The freedom to design focuses on the building’s visual expression rather than its theoretical one. With these empirical and multifaceted design philosophies, the projects balance form and functionality as we research the client’s kinaesthetic, lifestyle, and requirements.” Moving forward, Cityscape aims to design further projects that assert their quality and importance to creativity.
