Green makeover for Gurugram balcony

Gurugram-based Homework Design Studio has redesigned a 120 sq. ft. main balcony at the DLF Belaire, which was on the 28th floor. Though the firm had originally wanted to replace the floor tiling, they wanted ahead with the existing one to minimise discomfort to the homeowners.

The balcony has a narrow portion visible from the living room, which is why the firm chose a movable bar table with a wrought iron frame and a marble top. Plants are arranged to hide the door and VRV unit, yet bring in the outdoors without making it overcrowded. The broader space is used for the swing, and a bench is refurbished and reused for additional seating. Deep-green chairs and a peg table are part of the renovation as well. Rafters are added to the track lighting, and the planter stands contribute to the ‘green wall’ element.
