Blend of classic and contemporary in New Delhi home

Gurugram-based Essentia Environments has designed the Three-Storeyed Bungalow in New Delhi, which was to include the client’s love for everything antique. They wanted to include contemporary architecture, simple geometric forms yet fulfill their functional needs. Spread over 6000 sq. ft., clean windows and balconies bring in the green exteriors into the interiors.
The ground floor features the entrance lobby, living room, dining room, kitchen and powder room. Moving up to the first floor, a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a walk-in closet, a family lounge and a pantry welcome the visitor. A master bedroom with en suite bathroom, walk-in closet, pantry and a guest room are on the second floor. The topmost floor has a bedroom, prayer room, pantry, lounge, study room and library, powder room and an outdoor space.
Customised furniture and artwork add exclusivity to the project, which otherwise follows a neutral colour palette. Wood, rock, slate, teakwood, cotton, wood and textiles meet the material palette along with marble floorings and wall panelling. Leather furniture and veined marble with contrasting tones add luxury to the space.
