Elegant design for New Delhi home
New Delhi-based Design Deconstruct has designed the Vasant Vihar, which is a 4BHK apartment project spread over 4000 sq. ft. The client is a bachelor, who wanted a clean, elegant and unobstructive design with luxurious elements. As the house is purely maintained by the staff, they needed utilitarian and low-maintenance interiors as well. One enters through the vestibule, which is adorned with a sleek console and a colourful Radha Krishna painting above it.
As the client enjoys entertaining, the design reflected the same with a free-flowing living, dining and lounge space. Also, the firm curated a lounge in the living room complete with a surround sound system for the television. A matte-finished marble backdrop with rose-gold steel accents foms the centrepiece behind the TV unit done up in veneer with polyester finish, and the display unit beside it displays collectibles. Leather sofas and a deep-green accent chair form the seating, along with red agate stone-topped table with black Marquina marble and brass inlay.
A hand-cut glass console with a petrified wood top divides the lounge and living room, along with a bevelled glass panelling and veneer background. The living area has formal seating with plush royal blue sofas, colourful printed cushions, carpeting and an alabaster chandelier. The dining area is visually separated by a metal screen in a custom-designed pattern, along with a marble-topped table in blue accents. Modern geometric designs and ethnic work on the walls are chosen for the mandir, along with a 45-mm-thick stone backdrop.
Herringbone-patterned wooden flooring maintains a warm and comfortable ambience in the master bedroom, which also allows in natural light. A wooden and brass wall panelling, a sleek television unit and a dresser complete the picture. Similarly, the guestrooms are elegant and intimate following the same neutral colour palette.
