Extensive material use for Raipur bungalow

Raipur-based Azure Interiors has designed the Aggrawal Bungalow, a renovation project for the client’s bungalow spread over 4800 sq. ft. on a modern scale. Walls were demolished to create seamless spaces and larger spaces for the doors and windows. This invited in natural light and gave a spacious largeness to the space, and designated the public areas – living room, dining area, kitchen, entertainment den, and guest bedroom – on the ground floor. The first floor houses the private areas – a master bedroom, two children’s bedrooms, and a lounge.

White and beige Italian marble flooring greets the visitor at the entrance foyer, with strips of Italian marble on the walls. A distressed mirror ceiling visually expands the foyer’s volume and leads the way to the formal living area. Orange and brown faux leather sofas, wooden side tables, leather shelves, bespoke furnishings, and artwork mounted on molded and POP-finished walls make up the formal living space. The informal living area is a double-height space with a ceiling featuring metallic wallpaper and a chandelier, along with a seating area set against a gold-finished stainless steel staircase. A television, a multi-use coffee table, and an L-shaped sofa are the furniture pieces used.

A chandelier and fan installation is the highlighting element of the dining space, while the black fixed glass panel offers views of the fountain outdoors. The kitchen is next to the dining area and is clean-lined and modern with a stainless steel modular unit. A green zone created as dado near the cooking zone and a stained-glass freestanding crockery unit is the major points.

Suede covering adds luxury to the walls in the master bedroom, while the daughter’s bedroom has a seamless micro-cement wall-to-floor covering. A cane-and-wood four-poster bed, a vintage freestanding tall mirror, a seating corner, a wardrobe, study, and a dresser are the furniture pieces. Concrete panels are used for the son’s bedroom with bright wallpaper used as panels for the wardrobes and chairs.
