Modern design for Mumbai apartment

Photographer: Sagar Padwal

Mumbai-based Research & Creation has designed the Arora Residence, a functional project for dinner parties, movie hangouts and intimate family time. Sliding-folding room separators with fluted glass panels add translucence to the entire space spread over 1,700 sq. ft. Natural light and a breath-taking cityscape can be accessed by the verandahs, which led to the living area, a closed kitchen, a master bedroom, and two bedrooms. A terrace doubles up as the gathering area for parties, as well as evening tea.

A full-length mirror visually doubles the narrow entry passage, and a recessed LCD screen projector and Denver sound system was installed in the living room. Curated door handles and accents such as gold and brass detailing, wall décor, an inlaid brass strip and an Art-Deco-inspired front door keep the ambience fresh and vibrant.

There is a dedicated zone for the daughters to study near the kitchen. The dining chairs and barstools are customized with a golden color scheme at the base and matching fabric. Italian marble complements the soft furnishings, lending a sophisticated touch to the home.

A walk-in wardrobe has fluted panels for a big and airy look for the daughters, which offers plenty of storage space accompanied by a full-length mirror.
