Rectilinear facade for Ghaziabad hotel
Noida-based Modarch India has designed the Park Plaza in Ghaziabad, a hotel that features a tall façade visible from all sides. The hotel has 182 rooms for business and leisure travellers, along with a dining space that accommodates 1,500 guests in three spacious banquet rooms with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment.
Grey-toned patterned fenestrations confluence with glass and mullions within the Park Plaza’s rectilinear façade, while diamond glazing on the lift façade provides a visual connection to the city. The recessed corner lobby creates a parallax from the two outer roads perpendicular to the other.
An Art Déco style was chosen for the interiors with an inherent affinity towards natural elements in the marble floors, metallic inserts and ambient lighting. A series of lights lead visitors to the reception, and further to the lift lobby accentuated with Brizzio marble cladding, cove lights and rose-gold metal profiles. Warm grey is chosen for suites, with rust and copper accents derived from nature. Stenciled copper adds color and elegance, while the mirror visually expands the room.
Named the ‘Rooftop’, the all-day dining restaurant follows an island model layout that promotes live and interactive cooking. A green-and-brown color palette blends in with silver, gold, and copper-finished pendant lighting. Along with ambient and task lighting, the hexagonal breaks in the ceiling add charm to the space.
