Scandinavian color palette for Ahmedabad home
Ahmedabad-based Designer’s Circle has designed the 42 Parkview, a 3BHK apartment spread over 115 sq. m. The residential project followed a Scandinavian design, which follows a neutral color palette, nature-inspired shades, wooden ceilings and light-colored flooring. Designed for a young couple, they wanted a recreational media room and a guest room apart from the regular living area, dining area and bedrooms. Clean lines, organic textures and simple silhouettes were a priority, with multi-purpose and easy-to-maintain furniture.
A neutral color palette and maximum windows for natural light and ventilation was chosen for the residence, which highlights simplicity, functionality, and sophistication. Six-seater leather furniture was used for the living room, shared with the dining area that features a stone table and dark-polished chairs. A wooden ceiling runs throughout the space, punctuated by a lighting fixture over the table. A long balcony with pebbled flooring, weaved chairs and greenery makes for the perfect chai spot. White tiles in a herringbone pattern are used all over the house, while vertical surfaces have textures of traditional lime-washed walls complemented by the wooden ceiling.
A kitchen on the left with brick and lime-washed textures lends a breezy feel, behind which a bedroom has been converted into a media room. Veneer-clad walls and textured sofa create a cozy space, resembling a lounge. In the master bedroom, wooden furniture with prints is highlighted by the wall lights and a concealed wardrobe with a wooden panel. The bed back panel is the highlight in the guest room, which features dark shades and prints as well.
