Staircase bisects spaces in minimalist home

Photographer: Pratik Chandresha

Mumbai-based Design Inc. has designed Anushakti, a 3BHK bungalow for a doctor couple spread over 3,000 sq ft. The client prioritised optimum visual connectivity within an open layout, with a focus on family spaces and social gatherings.

Public and private spaces are bisected using the staircase lobby, which is used as a central design element that promotes floor integration and vertical connectivity. Though minimalist in design, the project features exposed brickwork in the elevation and interiors. Fine masonry work accentuates the finish, with clean details that transform design into reality.

The kitchen at the rear is raised and becomes an active zone for the couple who relax by cooking. The master bedroom on the ground floor is flanked by landscaped greenery on one side and a huge walking space on the other. Two bedrooms on the first floor are designed in a similar manner with a terrace and balcony that look over the Aravallis.
