Veneer accents for Mumbai apartment

Mumbai-based Traansformation Design Studio has designed the Issrani Residency, an apartment spread over 900 sq. ft. that follows an indigenous contemporary aesthetic in a functional space. A veneer door with a brass and veneer name plated welcomes visitors to the living space. The living room has a green sofa, a crockery unit and a chandelier along with decorative artifacts.
Veneer accents are further incorporated into the design, such as a dark veneer dining table and a black veneer study ledge and the television unit is given a rustic finish. Wooden louvers and textured tiles with brass pattis comprise the feature wall, and there is the use of black on the walls, ceiling, and the grey crockery unit. The kitchen is functional with plenty of storage and utility space.
The parents’ room is connected by a long passageway with brass mirrors of different sizes. A carved bed with a leatherite headboard adds richness, highlighted with wallpaper, full-sized curtains, and wall art – ending with a movable sleek plasma unit on the wall. Wooden louvered paneling on the feature wall makes up the master bedroom, with an overhead storage area, a dressing mirror, a wardrobe and a study area. The bathrooms have themed tilings, a mirror, glass partitions, doors, and bath fittings doused in mood lighting.
