Interactional spaces for New Delhi apartment

New Delhi-based ArcKala Design Studio has designed An Eclectic Surge in Noida, which is a 2BHK apartment spread over 1200 sq. ft. The client wanted a space that blended textures, patterns and flavors, which is retained with visually-connected interactional spaces. They collect global art and souvenirs, and the firm designed the furniture and light that add a warm character to the space.

The open-layout begins at the entrance, which is decorated with a wooden dado and suspended pendant lighting. Next follows the spacious open kitchen tucked away in the corner with a breakfast counter, while the dado continues into the dining space and bar. The living room is divided into formal and informal seating: a large window in the northeast brings in natural light and ventilation. A tea lounge along the window enables the clients enjoy the panoramic views from the window, which again leads to the master bedroom. A low bay window seating allows users to interact, and patterned handmade tiles on the wooden countertop allows for keeping sculptures and art pieces.

The small master bedroom has ample storage space and functional wardrobe, with a colorful reading corner. A combination of rose-pink and teal green adds color to the nook, which captures the sunset beyond and doubles up as a utility space. For the son’s bedroom, blue and grey is used. A small study by the window and a large shelf stores books and other collectibles, and a tufted grey bench and upholstered chest of drawers add character.
