Mediterranean theme for Gurugram home

Gurugram-based DesignEx Studio has designed the Ireo Residence in Gurugram, which is a residential project spread over 2900 sq. ft. The client wanted a modern home that reflected the Mediterranean Sea; however, it was inspired by the London Walk-up apartments and included European elements. The colour palette is white, blue and grey with white and reflective panels for diffused light throughout the house.
Locally-sourced materials make the space economical and ecologically efficient, thereby reducing pollution and transportation costs. Walls are clad with fabric linen-textured wallpaper featuring a self-on-self print in white and ivory tones. The entire woodwork is finished in white, and the wallpaper prevents the need for repainting in the future.
The European-inspired powder blue welcomes one through the entrance, which has a knocker and vintage knob. Two chesterfield sofas have a refurbished centre table painted white for a modern and minimalistic appearance, along with a marble top. The open kitchen features light aqua-themed colours along with a breakfast table and quartz countertops with a Spanish-style herringbone pattern. The pantry for bulk storage is built high to avoid visible mass and weight, thus the kitchen appears spacious.
The master bedroom has an upholstered bed and two chairs, and the bathroom features white marble, a large mirror and soft lighting. The son’s bedroom has three different gaming screens, the desk and the study. Denim-inspired wallpaper adds textures, and the sofa bed provides the needed furniture. The powder bathroom has blue Moroccan tiles, a blue basin, a light grey-tiled wall and plants.
