Pastel colours for New Delhi nursery

New Delhi-based Thinkcutieful has designed the Pastel Cocoon, a customised nursery for a residential project. The firm used pearl grey and white in the backdrop, which suited the minimalistic design. One of the pearl-grey walls features framed floral watercolour with monochromatic images, which maintains a sentimental mood board. Customised wallpaper of vegetation and woodland animals are used, along with handmade three-dimensional paper butterflies sourced from a flea market in Goa. Customised tennis rackets are added to the crib, which symbolises the parents’ love for butterflies and sports.

Custom-designed teakwood furniture is arranged to maximise space in the room measuring 250 sq. ft., which includes a baby cot with retractable handrails, chairs, cubbyholes for storing toys and an acrylic-fronted bookshelf. A customised floor lamp encased in a linen lampshade complements the neutral-coloured velvet and linen soft furnishings. Sparse furnishings provide space for the baby to crawl and the faunal motifs subconsciously stimulate their sensorial development, curiosity and sense of discovery with age.
