Pastel shades for Mumbai apartment

Photography: Prashant Bhatt

Mumbai-based Hiren Tank Interior Designing has designed the Mehta Residence, which is a minimalistic and functional apartment spanning 950 sq. ft. Tonal arrangements of beige, black, white and wooden tones are highlighted with greenery. High-end furniture and furnishings contrast with the paintwork wall features and indoor plants, making it a warm and welcoming space.

The foyer and living room are openly connected to create a free-flowing pathway. Custom-made entryway storage units prevent cluttering, and large windows fill the living space with natural lighting. A rectangular four-seater dining table and a blue upholstered sofa are set against the neutral background. Indoor plants add a burst of greenery to the décor scheme, and a neutral-coloured rug adds soft texturing.

A beige backsplash complements the mint-green and grey kitchen cabinetry, and a narrow galley kitchen directs the eye towards a window overlooking the city view. The grey-accent master bedroom has a white and grey colour scheme and a linear headboard design. Bespoke wardrobes have a smooth semi-gloss finish with customised handles, and mature indoor plants symbolise life by the bedroom window.

The second bedroom uses mint green, natural wood and white with built-in furniture. Herringbone mint-green wooden tiled flooring adds a contemporary style, along with a grey sofa bed with blush cushions and a linear television unit. The bathroom has a shower space with terrazzo flooring, mint-green tiled walls, suspended lights and an oval mirror.
