Quirky design for Mumbai home
Goa-based Studio Tilt has designed the Blue Haven in Mumbai, which is a residence for a young working couple. A monochromatic blue palette displays exclusivity and comfort, which is essential after a long day’s hard work. Handcrafted wooden frames in the living room are sourced from the local markets in Bandra and painted in warm colors.
A quirky café-like dining space with a bench features a collage wall displaying the couple’s interests such as their favorite musicians and football teams. The appeal is carried over the bedroom, where colorful artwork complements the monochromatic mood. Greens are constantly incorporated throughout the home with planters and hanging creepers, and the lack of a balcony is countered by installing a green mesh of creepers up to the window sill with hanging creepers outside the window. The railings are wrapped in rope and twine for a natural and rustic edge.
