Soothing ambience for New Delhi apartment

Gurugram-based Chalk Studio has designed the Tranquil Home, the name of which comes from the calming ambience enveloping the apartment. The home focuses on clean lines and simplicity, and the compact space includes functional, comfortable and stylish décor. A minimal design and material palette are brightened with statement accessories such as modern chandeliers, lighting fixtures and modern artwork. Storage was devised through built-in spaces, storage niches and multifunctional furniture.

The front door directly opens into the living and dining room, designed with dark-grey sofas, pink armchairs and nesting tables in the centre. Staggered cabinets, open shelves and built-in storage comprise the television unit. The six-seater dining table is paired with a low-height console that doubles up as a buffer counter. Gigi and Chakra, Oma, Sarita Handa, Apartment9 and Bo Concept are used for the accessories. Furniture is sourced from Ikea, and the rugs are chosen from Ikea and The Rug Republic.

Bedrooms enjoy ample sunshine and are designed with clean lines, a neutral colour palette and wall-mounted lighting fixtures. The master bedroom has wooden-look WPC panelling, a television unit and two rocking chairs. Spanning 100 sq. ft., the guest bedroom uses white and light wooden tones for the flooring.
