Futuristic look for Taloja R&D centre

Mumbai-based Space Design Group has designed the Aditya Birla Fundamental Research Centre EPOTECH in Taloja, which is a commercial and laboratory project spanning 8000 sq. ft. One enters through a round waiting area elevated from the floor, and a curved unit at the entrance displays the products and a display screen against the blue lamination. A granite and composite marble pathway is used for the passage, highlighted with epoxy patterns on the glass partition with frosted film.

The manager’s cabin has a slanted desk look whereas the apron has a grey and white laminate geometric pattern. The epoxy formulation is vertically laser-cut on the side and is paired with a blue pin-up board and seating. Chairs are ergonomically designed to reduce lower back pain and meeting rooms and cabins are lined with sustainable carpet tiles.

Motivational quotes on the wall render, and a suspended ceiling in the workstations feature blue LED light for a futuristic look. The laboratory is designed with mobile and flexible furniture with SEFA-8 and SEFA-10 certifications, and fume hoods are provided with HRAE-110, EN-14175 and SEFA-1 compliance.
