Indian-style magnificence for Mumbai boutique

Mumbai-based Saniya Kantawala Design has designed the Yogita Kadam Design Boutique, which was to fabricate a boutique that reflects the intricacy and complexity of the designer’s work.

The 800 sq. ft. boutique is an extension of the designer’s style and incorporates zardozi and brocade in its spatial aesthetics enclosed in a glass space. Wooden framing and lamps descend from the ceiling which features bespoke red and blue zardozi-embroidered fabrics, adding magnificence to the retail store.

The Indian aesthetic has been explored with embroidered and carved wooden wall with design patterns taken and molded from the designer, which extend to the ceiling.

Broken bronze mirrors form the window display, as they embellish the head and palm of two mannequins. A visual story was created by accessorizing the display with vintage articles such as an old telephone, magnifying glass and a swing with wood and gold details. The boutique radiates a touch of Indian royalty in its design.
