Brick-and-glass staircase for Mumbai fashion boutique
Mumbai-based Saniya Kantawala Design has designed the Vidhita Raut Fashion Boutique, which was to fashion a boutique to be a source of inspiration for the designer to visualize and enhance her creativity.
The boutique is spread across an area of 1100 sq. ft., with a spiral staircase ornamented with the designer’s ivory lace work designed for efficient use of space. The stairway is brick-etched with a glass railing leading up to the second floor, almost featuring as an art installation.
White walls feature the designer’s prints in pastel-colored fabric, making it a personal space. Chandeliers in bright strawberry and salmon pink, and adorned with lemon-yellow thread, are the central focus. The overall color scheme is kept neutral and accentuated with pastel hues, which is ideal to display garments of a similar tone. The reception facia is an assemblage of boxes – some of which are embroidered with silver and gold brocade, while others are embellished with powder-blue and peach lacework. The boutique thus resembles a fairytale land on a white canvas dotted with pastel colors.
