Skate culture vibes for San Francisco apparel store
London-based Brinkworth and the Wilson Brothers have designed the Supreme, San Francisco. The client brief was to transform a dilapidated unit for Supreme’s latest and largest store.
The 2800 sq. ft. area structure features double-height ceilings, exposed brick and exposed steel beams throughout the store. A huge, single pane of glass forms the shop front with 7 ft. tall sculptures by Mark Gonzales scattered on the floor.
Known for its skate culture and bombing hills, the store has a crafted indoor skate bowl suspended from the mezzanine, built with an exposed timber exoskeleton and textured lacquer bowl. Custom-made furniture replicates the granite benches found on Market Street in the 90s, a favorite skate spot. The Supreme store resonates with San Francisco’s skate culture.
