Classic décor for Thane apartment

Mumbai-based Greenhatch Architects has designed The Quaint House in Thane, which is a residential 3BHK apartment spanning 900 sq. ft. The client wanted a home that responded to their needs, focusing on minimal, contemporary, and impactful décor. The home follows a blend of Victorian aesthetics and modern décor, and a subdued material palette maintains sophistication. A defined entrance foyer is created by a bar unit cabinet, with wall accents, decorative lighting, and Georgian ceiling moldings.

The living and dining area features a blue sofa and a striped carpet, paired with a light beige mid-century armchair to break the monotony. Sheer curtains line the windows, and the television unit is finished with grooved charcoal paneling.  Decorative mirror paneling against the dining table opens up the space, also offering a visual interest as it reflects the sculptural pendant light, marble dining table, and beige upholstered chairs.

The mother’s bedroom has soft colors, with a pastel-blue foliate wallpaper behind the bed. Pale blues and gold on the wall bring calmness and regality to the room, and cane knobs on soft pink cabinets create a quirky statement. White walls in the son’s bedroom are paired with cream and café latte-toned furniture and flooring, and the headboard almost blends into the wall. The wall lamp above the side table is made of gold-plated metal and crystal glass, and a customized frameless Victorian-styled mirror is placed on the wall.

The guest bedroom and study room have a cheerful mustard-yellow ceiling, with white walls and curtains to balance the same. Colorful photographs above the bed and a textured metal lamp on the side table add texture and color. The home receives abundant natural light, and accent lighting is added through table lamps, wall sconces, pendant lights, and chandeliers.
