Agile touch to Mumbai office

Mumbai-based architecture and design consultancy firm The Canvas Design has designed the Tata Sky Office. The client brief desired a free-flowing space that reflected its core values of leadership, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

The visitor is welcomed by a home-styled backdrop of a TV cabinet airing Tata Sky at the reception. Doing away with cabins and cubicles, the open office has several multipurpose rooms that switch between meeting rooms and training rooms, thanks to the adaptable furniture stacked in the wall cabinet. There are a series of collaborative seating nests and informal meet-and-greet areas, where employees can work using a blend of linear workstations, mediascapes, and high desks. The entire space is framed by a video-wall and a vertical green wall, closely connected to the coffee joint and cafeteria. Other facilities such as wet-walks and umbrellas were designed in close contact with the client, which enabled the firm to foresee the challenges and consequences of the design. Being an agile workspace, the workstation incorporates natural light that improves employees’ productivity and overall energy costs.

Interesting elements such as colorful murals, handpainted tiles, and acoustic fabric panels are incorporated into the space as well. The office also features wooden flooring, laminate paneling and acoustic hera board bafal ceiling adding a modern touch to the project.
