Collaborative design for Gurugram back office
Mumbai-based architecture and design firm The Canvas Design has designed the Marriott International project, one of the world’s largest diversified hospitality sectors. The client brief was to design a back office to maximise connectivity, complementing the cityscape with white brick and wooden finishes.
The front reception area welcomes the guest with a white brick wall and the brand logo. One of the talking points includes a mural of the world map against a dark background right next to the white wall. Potted plants ensure occupants’ connectivity to nature while the ample sunlight in the workstation is amplified through glazing.
The collaborative workspaces have been designed to facilitate access with a single connecting pathway. Though the color palette is kept muted keeping with the formal atmosphere, touches of pop colors accentuate a fresh and energizing feel. The entire project is thus an amalgamation of workstations, closed masses, neighborhood spaces, and breakout zones.
