Noglu Restaurant

Paris, France
Commission: Mathieu Lehanneur

Noglu opened its doors with its flagship patisserie and café in October 2016. Designed by Mathieu Lehanneur, the space sits in the heart of an area renowned for authentic specialist food shops.
Illustrating the principles behind the inspiration for Noglu, the design incorporates natural materials such as marble and quartz, displaying a pure and wholesome look, with soft tactile furnishings, including pale grey velvet cushions, to add a sense of indulgence.
A high ceiling, white walls and a powder pink salon combine to attract patrons, and comfortable banquette seating and terrazzo-topped tables make diners feel relaxed. The centre of the space features an undulating wall made of stone that has a cave-like opening, signifying man’s primitive beginning.

Brass-brushed fittings, mirrors and the ‘Cloudy' pendant light create an ambiance which is a signature statement of designer Mathieu Lehanneur who is known for his lightness of touch and contemplation-inducing designs. The statements ‘Keep the gluten away' and ‘Please don't glu' are handwritten on the walls as a decorative feature.
