Renovated luxury for Gurugram villa

Gurugram-based MADS Creations has designed the Villa, a residential project on a 5,000 sq. yd. property. Spread over 10,000 sq. ft., it was stripped down to a bare shell before its renovation and interior design process. Today, the ground floor comprises a double-height lobby, formal living room, dining area, informal living space, bar and study and bedroom.

Two paintings of horses, accentuated by moldings, mirrors and gold accents adorn either side of the lobby, which is illuminated by a chandelier. Statuario marble with Dark Emperador accents creates a luxurious flooring pattern, punctuated by a collection of lit-up metal and fluted glass pillars that introduce the inner living spaces.

Sofas and loungers arranged in two clusters comprise the formal living room on the left, with custom-made gold twin chandeliers. Vertical wall details and floor-to-ceiling drapes in neutral colors add drama and unify the tall volumes. High-gloss metal center tables in contrasting gold and black bring sophistication on the side while marble tables take over the other end. Handpicked artwork and accessories further introduce an artistic character to the space.

Doubling up as a media room, bar and library, the informal lounge area has a more casual décor. Accent chairs with black and white upholstery, marble coffee tables in interesting shapes and a marble side table are the highlighting features. A stone table with gold-coated metal adds panache to the dining room, with chairs in black and gold legs. Moldings, paintings, and gold-rimmed mirrors in organic walls decorate the walls, lit up with a golden light.

Elaborate wall paneling and wallpaper in the center create intimacy in the bedroom, set off with a hand-tufted headboard for the sleeping area.
