Bengaluru-based AJ Architects has designed the New-Fangled Office, which is a commercial project for a chartered accountant’s firm. The client wanted a seamless creative, commercial, and cultural space. They wanted the same to be modern, luxurious, technologically advanced, and functional. Located in a commercial complex in central Bengaluru, one of the main challenges was to achieve space efficiency, ample light, and ventilation. A modern minimalist workspace with ample storage space was the primary requirement, and the openable windows on only one side of the office were a big challenge for the team to plan for air ventilation.

The office layout comprises cabins placed on one side, the conference area toward the façade’s tall fixed glazing, and the workspace in front of the cabins. A reception counter meets the visitors at the minimalist grey area and is wrapped in white marble with PVD gold-finished detail around the molding.

The workspace is flooded with natural light entering through the building’s glazed frontage and passing through the frontage room. It features marble-finished tiled desks and bespoke storage units, with wooden ceilings, checkered black-and-white flooring, and lighting connected to Bluetooth-enabled dimmers to regulate power consumption.

The Managing Director’s cabin comprises grey, turquoise, and rattan with a grey marble-finished desk. The second Director’s cabin has a contemporary white ambiance with a wooden rafter design, and the conference room follows the same palette to reflect maximum light.
