Spacious design for Udaipur bungalow

Udaipur-based Design Inc. has designed the Duggar House, which is a residential bungalow spanning 2400 sq. ft in Bhopalpura. The client wanted a home for his joint family, including his elderly parents and younger brother. They wanted a simple, open, and spacious layout that facilitated different age requirements with a space for small get-togethers and family functions. The layout is segregated into public and private spaces with a common hall on the ground floor, facilitating an easy approach for families and visitors.

The first floor houses the living room, dining room, kitchen, and two bedrooms – one for the parents and guests. The second floor accommodates three bedrooms, and the third floor has a bedroom and a home theatre. The levelled terrace and a vertical movement lobby promote spatial planning, and the terrace has a semi-open Jacuzzi with an interactive landscape.

The exteriors use kadappa stone, travertine, HCP, and white concrete. The interiors have neutral colors for walls, floor, and ceilings such as white, beige, grey, and beige. Stone is used on the lower levels, which transitions to neutral shades on the upper levels. Brick and mirrors are placed as accent and feature pieces in partitions and ceilings, which enhance natural light and visual expansion in darker spaces. Large windows throughout the bungalow maximize natural light and visual connection in all the liveable spaces, also reflected on the brick-walled bedrooms for warmth and character.

Comfortable and stylish furniture with clean lines and neutral upholstery adds to the aesthetic appeal of the space. Pops of color through accent pieces such as cushions, rugs, or artwork break the monotony of the neutral palette. Recessed lighting highlights specific areas and pendant lights and chandeliers create a focal point, with automated lighting facilitated with smart technology.

Landscaping is an integral component in the design with the use of CNC on railing and interiors. Terraces are low-maintenance landscape elements, and and white Jacuzzi is made of tiles and a terrazzo combination. Nature-inspired aesthetics bring the outdoors inside, incorporating natural greenery to create a soothing and refreshing ambiance. The terrace becomes an extension of the living space for relaxation, entertainment, and connection with nature.
