White, cyan, and wooden design for Mumbai home

Photographer: Ar. Ajinkya Manohar Patil

Mumbai-based Maksideo Design Consultants LLP has designed the 1BHK Apartment, a residential project spread over 460 sq. ft. The client is a young family with a child, and they wanted to efficiently use the space to make it look clutter-free and spacious. Full-height windows bring in natural light to the space, which is one of the best parts of the house.

A white and wooden color scheme with cyan elements add vibrance to the living room, along with windows and an L-shaped sofa. The TV unit has a clean square grid panel designed with charcoal highlighter and veneer, replicated on the ceiling with white Corian stripes. The mandir at the center of the room is so designed that the early sunrays fall directly on the idols, radiating positivity in the room. A traditional grill design carved in white acrylic with backlit yellow alabaster, blending Indian traditions and modernity.

The open-area kitchen is designed similarly with a storage partition that separates the two zones from each other, and cyan and white handmade tiles in a traditional pattern are used in the background. The dining area falls between the living area and the kitchen, with suspended mood lighting. An earthen color scheme is chosen for the bedroom; brown is used in matte and metallic finishes add free-flowing modernity. There is a queen-size bed, dressing, and ceiling designed as per the theme, long with matching upholstery adding a finishing touch to the space.
