Noida-based Studio Archohm has designed Villa Agra, a residential project that required innovative designs and response to urban challenges in a tier-2 city. The site area being around 8150 sq. ft., the client wanted to optimise space and resources as the compact site was located in a neighbourhood of private residences. The façade remains blank to express style while respecting the residents’ privacy without glass and front gardens. Composed as interconnected spaces that flow into each other, fenestrations are strategically placed through the northern lights, top lights and structural glazing.

Family, living and dining spaces open out to the central courtyard that invites in controlled views and lights, which formal entertainment spaces on one side and private zones on the other. They comprise an outer blank shell of wooden and inner perforated skin of white walls and glass. Upon entering, one sees a 16-foot-high door leading through the long and narrow passage. The double-height entrance with a glass bridge leads to the living and dining area, which converge at the central courtyard. Bedrooms have bespoken Italian furniture, along with an attached entertainment building adorned with dark wooden flooring.
