Native pink stone for Jaipur holiday home

Jaipur-based Beyond Design has designed the Residence, which is a holiday home spanning 22,000 sq. ft. The home included the main residence and an adjacent structure housing the bar library, all set in the landscaped lush green space and swimming pool spanning six acres. The firm had collaborated with the late Ar. Pradeep Sachdeva for the project, this being his large project in 2020.

The exteriors use wooden pillars and slopes reminiscent of South Indian architecture, but native pink stone pillars bring in a regional context. Large stone sculptures across the landscape bring character. The two-story home features seven en-suite bedrooms, a powder room, a bar, and a library. Following a neutral color palette, the home uses wooden tones, distressed paint, and in-house furniture, lighting, wall paneling, and mirrors.

The spacious double-height living has a white color palette, where artwork, furniture, and soft furnishings add color and warmth. A series of crystal and brass lighting is used in the dining table, and raw wooden paneling becomes the backdrop to the high-voltage instruments. The dining table displays intricate paisley inlay work with mother-of-pearl highlights. The bedrooms are more contemporary with modern artwork.
