Prismatic glass entrance for Mumbai research center

New Delhi-based ANA Design Studio has designed the Reliance Technology Group, a research center in Mumbai. The client wanted a workspace that brought about maximum productivity by maximizing the social environment. Moreover, the RCC building needed to incorporate all the advanced technology needed for present and future research. It had to encourage people to collaborate for the organization’s benefit.

Spread over 500,000 sq ft, the firm had to execute 48 super-specialty laboratories of global standards to incorporate energy-efficient design. A prismatic glass entrance and atrium curtail the solar heat and noise pollution from the surrounding areas. It acts as a workspace for scientists and researchers to share ideas leading to future collaborations.

The Internet of Things (IoT) acts as a centralized control system for smart buildings where the devices are connected to a smart engine. It saves energy and maximizes employee output by utilizing the information that it receives from the connected devices and ensuring its functionality without using additional energy. A high degree of thermal protection is in the use of in-built Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) foam. Due to its closed-cell structure and low thermal conductivity, EPS leads to the optimized performance of air conditioning and reduced usage of steel and concrete.
