Wicket themes for Mumbai Indians player

Photographer: Anish Motwani Associates

Mumbai-based Anish Motwani Associates has designed the Cricketer’s Residence, a residential project for the client Suryakumar Yadav, a cricketer with Mumbai Indians, and his wife Devisha Shetty Yadav. As the client travels and lives in different cities, he wanted an elegant and warm space to call home. Thus, lighter colors and minimalism are a priority.

A large cricket bat entrance with balls won from the match emphasize upon the client’s passion for cricket; a seven ft. long cricket bat has been constructed by the artist Parag Deshmukh. Hexagonal brown marble inlay work is added to the existing beige Italian marble flooring at the entrance and corridor, which is further repeated on the doors, veneer, mirror, and grooves.

A blue sofa, long yellow chairs, and a blue-and-white dining table add to the young and energetic style. A red acrylic feature saying ‘BAR’ with track lights is one of the client’s favorite elements. A leaf-patterned center table and side table are sourced from a Mumbai showroom, which blends perfectly with the décor. The gaming and entertainment room features a customized wallpaper spread of Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium with an emoji of the client in the center.

Veneer adds warmth to the doors, while golden mirrors are used for the crockery and brown mirrors on the doors and ceiling. Mango onyx with LED lights used for the crockery unit, while furnishings and upholstery are locally-sourced.
